Pick Your Own of the Year 2019
UK BEST FARM RETAILERS AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The Farm Retail Association (formerly FARMA) has announced the winners of its annual awards which are the only awards that are judged by fellow farm retailers.
Parkside Farm in Middlesex was named Pick Your Own of the Year.
The judges comments were… “Parkside Farm offers the full Pick Your Own experience, with a huge variety of crops on offer. It’s a well presented, well maintained farm, that offers its customers an excellent day out, and in our view would be a worthy winner this year.”
FARMA Pick Your Own of the Year 2015
From the FARMA website:
“Since it first began in 1981 Parkside PYO has evolved into a magnificent family orientated PYO covering some 50 acres. Today it offers some 20 different crops, which include one of the largest table top assortment of quality, tasteful strawberries beautifully grown and maintained, as is the whole PYO.
They are not afraid to experiment and over the past few years are now producing not only a wonderful assortment of both vegetables and soft fruit, but have started to grow table top tomatoes as well as potted blackberries and raspberries. The staff are friendly, courteous and knowledgeable and in my view this PYO offers not only a wonderful destination for a family to visit but also great value for money.”
The FARMA Retail Champion 2015

“Parkside is an exemplary example of a farm retailer who has focused on what makes them special and are doing it well. Year-in-year-out Parkside is constantly showcasing the best of a PYO business. In judging this award the judges praised Parkside for consistently high levels of husbandry throughout the 50 acres of crop. “You will find it hard to find a plant out of shape or a crop not at their best whenever you visit this incredibly busy PYO”, says Heather Coppley (FARMA judge).”
FARMA Pick Your Own 2009 & 2011
Parkside Farm also won the FARMA Pick-Your-Own of the Year Award in both 2009 and 2011, which means we have won it every year that we have been allowed to enter!
The chairman of judges, Gordon Wilson, commented in 2009:
“It was a joy to visit this traditional family-run pick-your-own farm which is beautifully maintained, well sign-posted throughout, and offers exceptional quality fruit and vegetables. All the staff I spoke to were very helpful and knowledgeable about the produce. Congratulations to everyone at Parkside Farm”
