Pick Your Own of the Year – Parkside Farm!

UK BEST FARM RETAILERS AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The Farm Retail Association (formerly FARMA) has announced the winners of its annual awards celebrating the best farm shops, farm cafés and restaurants, farmers’ markets, Pick Your Own farms and trade suppliers. They are the only awards that are judged by fellow farm retailers.

Denstone Hall Farm Shop in Staffordshire picked up two awards for Farm Café/Restaurant of the Year and Large Farm Shop of the Year. Nigel Chandler formerly manager at Garsons Farm Shop and now at Hilliards in Surrey was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the industry, and for his passion for knowledge transfer and continuous improvement of businesses he’s been involved with throughout his career.

Small Farm Shop of the Year was awarded to Hutchinson Hobbs Farm Shop & Butchers in Stockton-on-Tees. Parkside Farm in Middlesex was named Pick Your Own of the Year. The Farmers’ Market of the Year Award went to Abbey Leys Farmers’ Market in Cheshire and The EPOS Bureau from Northern Ireland was judged Associate Member supplier of the Year.

Milly Stokes, Chairman of the Farm Retail Association said, “The awards are a fantastic recognition of the high standards, creativity, passion and commitment to customer service in this industry. Shoppers can be confident that they are buying top quality produce from genuinely caring and thoughtful people when they visit farm shops, farmers’ markets and pick your own farms in this country.  Huge congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to all our sponsors.”

The winners in seven categories were announced at the Awards dinner on Tuesday 26th February as part of the Farm Retail Association’s Annual Conference and Trade Show held in Oxford.
